Pro-Tec Instructions

Instructions:

 1.

All Items::
Cut Pro-Tec Braid to length, from servo boot to within an inch or two of the end that will plug into RX. Do not run braid all the way to the RX end. This could keep leads from plugging into the RX because of the extra thickness created by the "sleeve bands".

 2.

Cut Sleeve material into “Bands” with scissors to the desired length. Approximately 1/2 inch (12mm) at the servo and 1/4 inch (6mm) at the connector end.

 3.

Slide Braid over connector(s) and wire to the approximate desired position. Braid will expand to fit over wire ends and even several layers of wire with no problem. A “Bic” pen inserted all the way first will open braid and allow easy insertion of wire end. Push ink pen out other end.

 4.

Slide Braid over connector to position, Slide “Sleeve Band” on, overlapping the Braid by approx 1/8" (3mm) and overlapping other end item (connector, servo boot, wire, line, etc.) by same or desired amount. (ref pic 2)

 5.

Hold wire so "Sleeve Band" and Pro-Tec's Heat Resistant Braid remain in desired position while heating with modelers heat gun. (Some Hair Dryers will work for this as well.)

 6.

At this point slight re-positioning can take place. Heat all round "Sleeve Band", concentrating heat on the sleeve and not the braid, until total shrink has been reached.

 7.

Hold in position for a few seconds until cool. When using on thin wires it may be necessary to pinch the "Sleeve Band" together at the wire/sleeve area.

PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE

 8.

Caution: Adhesive in Sleeve and Sleeve will be hot.

 9.

Do not over heat at or on connectors as they can be distorted by the heat.

 10.

“Sleeve Bands” can be cut to length equal to a plugged in connectors and overlap the Braid on both wires to provide a failsafe connection. Slide over installed “Braid”, Plug wires into each other, Move “Sleeve Band” over both connectors and both “Braids” then shrink “Sleeve Band”

 11.

Pro-Tec Braid with it's unique "Sleeve Bands" can be used in many ways to make a neater, cleaner looking project, as well as affording extra protection from abrasion.  (ref pic3)

12.

GOTO:

To Remove "Sleeve Band": Carefully cut boot length wise with sharp knife. DO NOT CUT THROUGH to wires. Heat the “Sleeve Band” as in installation. Pull apart at cut. Remove Pro-Tec Braid.
